If you updated from a version of Trip Journal previous to 6.2 and are asked to buy In App Purchase trips, this is a bug. Please wait until the fix we just submitted to the AppStore is approved by Apple. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Trip Journal runs on the iPad and on iPod touch, but it is not specifically designed for these devices. Location features (Track Route, Geo-tagging and Maps) are available only in Wi-Fi spots. You can add pictures and videos to your trips from the Photo Library.
Trip Journal is currently available in English and German. We are working on adding more languages as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, with the latest OS versions from Apple the GPS chipset is turned off when the iPhone's screen is locked by pressing the standard iPhone lock button. We have come with a new feature that rezolves this issue. While in the "Lock Screen", that can be accessed by pressing the "lock screen icon", you can safely place your iPhone in your pocket or in a bag, and the screen will lock automatically, to preserve battery. In this way, trip Journal will keep on tracking your route, even if the iPhone screen is locked.
You can use the GPS functionality without an Internet connection; there is no need to activate roaming. The Maps and the trip sharing functionality will only become available when you have an internet connection(data roaming or WiFi). However, Airplane Mode deactivates the GPS chipset too besides the data roaming services; we recommend you just disable the 3G, Data Roaming and all data services, but let GPS enabled while traveling abroad.
The application is working but there is no GPS functionality available.
In order to retrieve a crash log you need to synchronize your iPhone with iTunes. The crash logs are transferred to your computer at a standard location, depending on the OS you use:
* Mac OS X : ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/
In order to export your Trip Journal you must access the 'Trip Admin' screen and then select "Share Trip". Choose from Google Earth export or Facebook export to share both the route and the photos, export only the route through GPX Export or share your trip photos on Picasa or Flickr. You can also tweet your current position to your Twitter followers.
Trip Journal is integrated with Google Maps and Open Maps. In order to display your route on the map, a working internet connection is required.
Trip Journal uses the coordinates received from GPS satellites for route tracking. Therefore Trip Journal application can be used abroad, without any additional fees. If you start the tracking while being abroad, Trip Journal will log your track without extra charges to your phone bill, if your data roaming services are turned off.
