As you all know, Trip Journal challenged you to invite your friends to use our Facebook App in the contest we launched on September 25th 2010.

The idea was, that for each of your Facebook friends that accepted your invite, you got a step closer to winning an iPhone 4.

The next step? The long-awaited moment, installing Trip Journal and sharing your travel memories with all your friends on Facebook, with your brand new iPhone 4 32GB, priced at $699.

With the new Trip Journal ‘embed trips’ feature, you can share your trips, including map with route, waypoints and photos on your personal blogs.

It only takes four simple steps:

1. Export your trip on Facebook with the Trip Journal mobile application.

2. In the Trip Journal Facebook application, go to the ‘Embed’ tab of your exported trip and make sure the trip is ‘Public’.

3. Choose one of the three available sizes and copy the embed code.

4. Paste the code into your blogging platform HTML editor (try to use the raw HTML mode).

That’s all! Here’s how the embed will look like:

The embedded trips look great on the major blogging platforms: WordPress, Blogger, Typepad, Squarespace.

That’s what the voters at the Community App Awards that took place at the 360|iDev Conference decided: Trip Journal is the best app. They must be right, they know iPhone applications!

360|iDev is the leading iPhone developer conference in the world. Their focus is to bring the best and brightest in the developer community together for 3 days of incredible sessions, awesome parties, good times, and learning. This third edition of the conference took place in Austin, Texas, between November 7-10 2010.

The event featured “great folks, wise conversations, A-list of speakers”, as one of the attendees twittered.

The list of passionate developers, app bloggers and mobile apps entrepreneurs and writers included legends like: Tim Burks (@timburks), World’s Toughest Programmer Mike Lee (@bmf), Michael Simmons (@macguitar), Ken Yarmosh (@kenyarmosh), author of App Savvy.

Trip Journal runs in the bada Developer Challenge

Trip Journal is getting ready to conquer bada and the Samsung smartphones! But Trip Journal will not do that like in the legends, by dividing and conquering, but by seducing and conquering.

Samsung organizes the bada Developer Challenge and gives all the developers a chance to show their “creativity and innovation to the world and help define the new mobile experience with Samsung.”

Trip Journal has registered and qualified for the Simulator Phase together with 300 other applications, and has now advanced in the top 90 applications for the Device Phase. Trip Journal runs in the ”On the road” category and we hope it will become the “application that makes our mobile the most valuable piece of equipment that we have, when we travel; whether around the corner or across the globe”.

We prepared a new set of features specially for bada, harnessing the power of the bada platform and adding new capabilities to Trip Journal.

Here are the top new features of Trip Journal and Planner for bada:

Points of interest – Search for restaurants, hotels and other tourist destinations on your phone. You can easily determine the ones in your proximity.
Routing – Identify the closest route to the destination of choice, based on the streets available on the Map.
Directions – Guide yourself to the destination using the detailed walking/driving directions provided by Trip Journal on bada.
