You can easily switch between Trip Journal and other apps with a double-click of the Home button, and Trip Journal will continue to track your route.

Open any tasks, and you can jump right back to where you left Trip Journal, you don’t need to wait for it to reload; you even can listen to music while making a hike or driving. During a call, you can keep the conversation going and record your trip while Trip Journal constantly updates your position.

Please bear in mind that continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life. Trip Journal can work in the background on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.
