Google has just announced the winners of the Android Developer Challenge 2: Trip Journal ranked 1st in the travel category!
Android Developer Challenge 2 is a global competition launched by Google so as to award the best applications developed for Android powered smartphones. The award was accompanied by a 100,000-dollar prize as well.
This second annual Android Developer Challenge edition aimed at encouraging software developers to design innovative applications for Google’s Android operation system, functional with the latest generation mobile devices. 200 applications made it through to the last phase, more specifically 20 from each of the 10 categories.
Trip Journal won the Travel category, thus turning it into one of the world’s 10 best applications developed in 2009 for the Android system phones. The jury comprised of users and top specialists on behalf of companies such as Google, T-mobile, AEOLab and Twitter.
